Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat disease. The technology includes:
- X-rays
- Computed tomography (CT)
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Ultrasound
What Do Radiologists Do?
Radiologists use a variety of imaging procedures to see inside the body and assess or diagnose the patient’s condition. They interpret and report on the resulting images and recommend treatment and/or additional tests, if required.
Diagnostic Radiology
Diagnostic radiology is able to detect and screen for different illnesses, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, heart disease and more; and helps monitor the body’s response to treatment.
With the use of modern technology and evidence-based protocol, radiologists are able to support surgeons and other specialists in providing accurate interpretation and precise reporting to assist in diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring.
