What does an Emergency Physician do?
Emergency Physicians have the responsibility to initiate resuscitation, stabilisation, investigations and interventions to diagnose and treat acute phase conditions.
They assess and treat a wide range of illnesses, and potentially life-threatening conditions for example:
- Heart attacks
- Fractures
- Injuries resulting from car accidents
- Overdoses
- Strokes
- Asthma attacks
- Pregnancy-related emergencies
